Whiskers & Matcha: Custom Character Statue for Pop Culture Retail Display
There’s something quietly intense about this one. A pair of starry eyes, cat ears slightly tilted, and a bowl of matcha held with care—this custom sculpture was designed for a brand that wanted more than just “cute.” They wanted personality.
This seated figure, with its oversized head and anime-style expression, was brought to life as a 3D collectible for a pop culture-themed retail display. It’s not from a famous IP—yet. But that’s what made the project exciting: we worked from original sketches to build something that felt like it belonged in its own universe.
We sculpted the entire piece in fiberglass, with a satin matte finish to soften the bright tones and reflect the character’s gentle but focused mood. The green matcha swirl was airbrushed for a slight gradient, adding depth without losing the stylized feel. At around 60cm tall, it’s compact enough for display counters but large enough to stop you in your tracks.
From concept confirmation to shipment, the process took just under three weeks—including 3D modeling, prototype adjustment, and custom paint testing.
